You know the old saying when it comes to car insurance that the price of the car that you buy is going to cost you a heck of a lot in the premium?  Well, it’s the truth.  The price tag on your car is actually going to increase the cost of your insurance premium.  For example, if you have a sports car that cost a lot of money … you probably will pay a lot more in car insurance. One thing that you will notice though that the older your car is, the lower your car insurance premium is going to be.  If you have the latest and greatest car on the market, you are going to have a high insurance premium but if you have a ten year old clunker, you car insurance premium will be lower. These are all myths that many people do not think that are true and some of them aren’t – but a lot are.  Just pay attention to your policy though and you should be fine!

Now that we have talked a little bit about your car and how the color of your car does not necessarily matter when it comes to how high you car insurance premium is, let’s talk about some more of the common myths that you might come across in the way of car insurance premiums. One of the first things that you need to understand and that we do stress in this particular blog is that your credit score does matter.  To be honest, most people believe that their credit score simply does not matter and that is why they do not take care of it, but it does – it affects everything. In the next blog, we are going to talk about how your car itself and the price tag on it can affect your car insurance premium!
